Product Introduction
The film transfer sizer is suitable for surface sizing, pigmented sizing, and coating applications, accommodating a wide range of paper grades with sizing or coating weights ranging from 0.5 to 12 g/m² (applied to either one or both sides). The process begins by using a metering rod to pre-meter the sizing solution or coating—maintained at a specific temperature—onto the sizing roll, creating a uniform film. This film is then transferred to the material positioned on the sizing bed within the nip; as the paper passes through the nip formed by two counter-rotating sizing rolls, the film transfers onto the paper web, resulting in a uniform coating layer. Because the film is pre-metered, it is both thin and consistent. Key features of this equipment include uniform coating application, high repeatability of coating thickness, ease of operation, and low material consumption. It is ideal for laboratory demonstrations, small-scale sizing trials and sample preparation, and research into sizing formulations.
