High Efficient Ferro Silicon FeSi 75/72 For Metallurgical Additives
Ferrosilicon is an alloy composed primarily of iron (Fe) and silicon (Si). It is produced by melting a mixture of iron ore, silicon dioxide, and coke or charcoal in an electric arc furnace. The resulting alloy is commonly used as a deoxidizer and an alloying agent in the production of steel, as well as in other industrial applications.
In addition, ferro silicon powder can be used as a suspended phase in the mineral processing industry and coatings for welding electrodes in the electrode manufacturing.
Function
- Alloying element: Ferrosilicon is added to steel and iron to introduce silicon as an alloying element. This addition enhances the material's strength, hardness, and magnetic properties.
- Commonly used in the production of stainless steel, electrical steel, and other specialty alloys.
