Product Description

What is Salicin?

Salicin is an organic compound with the chemical formula C13H18O7. It is a colorless crystal or white powder. It is soluble in water, easily soluble in boiling water, poorly soluble in ethanol (1:90), insoluble in   chloroform, but soluble in alkaline solutions, pyridine or glacial acetic acid. It has hygroscopic properties. It is widely found in the bark and leaves of many willow and poplar plants. For example, the bark of purple willow contains up to 30% salicin.

Key Fetures

1. Treats fever, colds, and infections
Referred to as a "natural aspirin," salicin is used to treat mild fevers, colds, infections (influenza), acute and chronic rheumatic complaints, headaches, and pain caused by inflammation. In its natural form, salicin harmlessly passes through the gastrointestinal system and is converted to salicylic acid in the blood and liver.

2. Relieves arthritis and back pain
White willow bark's analgesic properties typically take effect more slowly but last longer than regular aspirin products.
