High Purity Food Grade CMC Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose Powder For Dairy Bakery Thickener Stabilizer
CMC Powder
What is CMC Powder?
Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-Na) is an organic compound, a carboxymethylated derivative of cellulose, and the most important ionic cellulose gum. It is typically produced by reacting natural cellulose with caustic alkali and monochloroacetic acid, and is an anionic polymer with molecular weights ranging from several thousand to millions. CMC-Na is a white fibrous or granular powder, odorless, tasteless, hygroscopic, and readily dispersed in water to form a transparent colloidal solution.
Feature
Highly Emulsifying and Stabilizing Properties: Gum arabic molecules possess both hydrophilic polysaccharide chains and hydrophobic protein components, enabling them to adsorb at the oil-water interface to form a stable film and prevent emulsion separation. Its emulsifying stability remains excellent even in acidic environments, making it suitable for products such as carbonated beverages.
Thickening and Suspension Functions: Although the solution viscosity is relatively low, it effectively increases liquid viscosity and suspends solid particles (such as fruit pulp and spices) through steric hindrance, preventing precipitation and clumping.
Film-Forming and Adhesive Properties: After drying, it forms a flexible film suitable for tablet coating or candy surface polishing. Its natural viscosity makes it suitable as an adhesive for environmentally friendly bonding of products such as stamps and envelopes.
Flavor Encapsulation and Slow Release: It can encapsulate volatile flavor compounds (such as citrus oil), preventing oxidation and volatilization, and slowly releases them in water, prolonging flavor persistence.
Applications
Food Industry Emulsifiers and Stabilizers: Used as core emulsifiers in citrus-flavored carbonated beverages and beer to prevent essential oil precipitation; provides stable texture in emulsified flavorings and confectionery (such as gummies and toffee); used in ice cream to prevent ice crystal formation and improve taste.
Pharmaceutical and Health Product Dosage Forms: Used as a tablet binder, coating material, or emulsifier in emulsions, syrups, and other liquid formulations; used in microencapsulation technology to encapsulate sensitive ingredients such as fish oil and vitamins, masking odors and improving stability.
Printing and Paper Industry: Used as a dampening solution additive in offset printing plates to improve print clarity and stability; used in paper surface coating to improve gloss and ink absorption.
Cosmetics and Specialty Applications: Used as a stabilizer and thickener in cosmetics such as foundations and lotions; as a binder for traditional watercolor paints; and as a sizing component in textile printing and dyeing.
Product Parameters
For some products that require special packaging during transportation, we will carry out more delicate packaging. For example, retinal needs to be stored at -20 °C, so we choose cold chain transportation during transportation; deoxyarbutin will change color during transportation, so we will Vacuum packing of deoxyarbutin
