The filter press operates through a four-stage process:
- Slurry is pumped into the filter press with solids distributed evenly on filter cloths
- Solids build on filter cloth, trapping particles and forming filter cake
- Filtrate exits through corner ports into the manifold
- Chambers fill completely with filter cake, completing the cycle
