The DHSY550 is a purpose-built disc stack centrifuge for biodiesel glycerin separation. It handles post-transesterification crude FAME, separating glycerin and wash water in a single continuous pass. Working Principle
The DHSY550 separates based on density difference under centrifugal force. Post-reaction crude biodiesel is fed into the rapidly rotating bowl. Under 8,500G+ force, heavy-phase glycerin (density ~1.26 g/cm³) migrates to the bowl periphery and discharges continuously through nozzles. The light-phase FAME (density ~0.88 g/cm³) flows inward and exits through the centripetal pump at the top. Any residual solids (catalyst fines, soaps) are ejected via the self-cleaning bowl mechanism. When configured for washing, wash water is dosed inline, and the centrifuge separates post-wash water from purified biodiesel.
