2024 vs 7075 Aluminum Alloy Comparison
Both 2024 and 7075 aluminum alloys are widely used in the aerospace industry. The 7075 alloy is recognized as one of the strongest aluminum alloys available, achieving tensile strength of 83,000 psi and yield strength of 73,000 psi through precipitation hardening, making it stronger than 2024. While 7075 excels in applications requiring high stress/strain resistance, 2024 is better suited for applications where high cyclic fatigue resistance is essential.
