Waste Gas Treatment Catalytic Recuperative Oxidizer Catalytic Oxidiser Energy Saving
This catalytic combustion furnace is specifically engineered for industrial waste gas treatment, utilizing advanced catalytic oxidation technology to efficiently decompose organic waste gases (VOCs) including benzene, ketones, and esters. The system achieves purification efficiency exceeding 95% while incorporating a heat recovery system that significantly reduces operating energy consumption.

This Catalytic Oxidation system was designed by Jiangsu Ruiding Environmental Engineering Co. as an EPC general contract for Qingdao Siyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. The system treats volatile emissions generated during chemical product manufacturing and loading/transportation processes.
To meet Qingdao City emission standards while minimizing operational costs, we implemented an innovative off-gas treatment process combining "cryogenic + CO" technology, replacing traditional cryogenic plus adsorption methods for tank area gas treatment.
The treatment system handles 650 Nm³/h of tank area volatile gas and 350 Nm³/h of loading volatile gas. The unit occupies 20×10 meters and includes a three-stage condenser recoverer, reheater, catalytic reactor, and electric heater. The system ensures compliant emissions through the combined cryogenic + CO unit.
The project achieved mechanical completion on October 30, 2022, completed commissioning on November 20, 2022, and began official production operations in early December 2022.
Before entering Catalytic Recuperative Oxidizers (CO), VOC-containing gas is preheated through a heat exchanger. The preheated gas enters the CO unit and is elevated to the catalyst's working temperature, where an exothermic reaction converts pollutants into carbon dioxide and water vapor.
The clean hot flue gas then passes through the heat exchanger, transferring thermal energy to incoming air before being discharged through a chimney. Using catalysts with different oxidation temperatures allows for lower inlet temperatures (250-305°C), reducing energy requirements while maintaining oxidation efficiency.
