Glass wool is a lightweight, inorganic thermal insulation material produced from natural minerals—such as quartz sand, soda ash, and borax—by melting them at high temperatures, centrifugally spinning them into fibers, and bonding/curing them with a thermosetting resin. It features a fluffy, fibrous structure and offers advantages such as low weight, thermal insulation, sound absorption, Class A non-combustibility, and ease of installation; it is commonly available in three forms: glass wool blankets, glass wool boards, and glass wool pipe sections.
