5WG1526-4DB23 RL 526D23 KNX Switch/Dim Actuator 2x AC 230V 6A 1-10V AP118 Room Box Module
The RL 526D23 (5WG1526-4DB23) is the room-side counterpart of the junction-box actuators. Rather than being screwed into a ceiling box, it is a plug-in module that slides into an AP 118 automation module box or an AP 641 room automation box, which is where room lighting and shading hardware are concentrated in offices and hotel rooms. Its output chain is deliberately modest for room scale: two mains switching contacts of 6 A each, combined with analogue 1-10 V outputs for dimmable ECG or LED drivers.
- Protocol: KNX TP1 room-bus device; communications and internal logic are supplied by the KNX bus, so no separate 24 V feed is required at the room box.
- I/O Points: 2 switching outputs (relay contacts, AC 230 V, 6 A) with 2 associated 1-10 V analogue control outputs, giving two independent dimmable lighting groups.
- Rated Data: 230 V AC mains operation, 6 A per switching output, suitable for room lighting circuits rather than large hall groups; the 1-10 V control outputs are passive and are fed from the connected ECG.
- Function Set: Switching, relative and absolute dimming, per-channel minimum and maximum dimming values, switch-on brightness, time-limited night or corridor mode and scene recall within the group structure of the room controller.
- Mounting: Module format for the AP 118 automation module box and the AP 641 room automation box, which must be ordered separately; terminal blocks are pluggable, keeping commissioning and replacement a screwdriver-free job.
- Engineering: Configured from the Engineering Tool Software (ETS) version 4.2 or above; the application can be prepared offline and downloaded over KNX.
- Environmental & Mechanical: Designed for dry interior locations, plastic housing, bus connection by KNX terminal block, SELV bus circuitry, in line with the GAMMA instabus mechanical concept.
- Related Documents: Technical product information 5WG1 526-4DB23 (A6V12021343) and the GAMMA module box chapter for AP 118 and AP 641.
The module belongs to the room automation layer: offices with individually dimmable desk rows, hotel guest rooms with scene lighting, meeting rooms where a 1-10 V driver must be switched and dimmed from the same actuator, and clinics or laboratories where luminaire groups are kept small and locally controlled.
Because the module lives inside a room box together with the room controller, it shortens cable runs to luminaires, keeps mains and bus wiring out of the ceiling void and makes later channel changes a matter of swapping a module rather than rewiring the room.
