Product Description
5WG1141-1AB31 N 141/31 KNX DALI Gateway Twin 2 Channel 64 ECG 32 Groups 128 Lights
The N 141/31 (5WG1141-1AB31) is a KNX/DALI Gateway Twin that turns a KNX installation into a DALI lighting control system without any extra interface hardware.
Product Overview

The N 141/31 (5WG1141-1AB31) is a KNX/DALI Gateway Twin that transforms a KNX installation into a comprehensive DALI lighting control system without requiring additional interface hardware. Two independent DALI outputs each drive their own lighting line, enabling control of up to 128 DALI actuators from a single rail-mounted gateway. These can be organized into 32 groups and 32 scenes. The integrated power supply unit powers both the gateway electronics and generates the DALI bus voltage, eliminating the need for separate DALI power supplies on either line.

Technical Specifications
Protocol KNX TP1 device on automation side; two DALI outputs per IEC 60929 on lighting side. DALI is bidirectional for switching/dimming commands and lamp/ECG fault feedback.
Capacity & I/O Points 2 x 64 DALI ballasts (ECG), maximum 128 DALI ECGs total, assignable to maximum 32 DALI groups. Control via broadcast or groups with status and error feedback per group and device.
Power Supply Integrated supply for gateway electronics and DALI bus. Input: 110-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz or 120-240 V DC. Maximum DALI output voltage: 19 V, short-circuit proof. DALI line also supplies connected sensors - no additional DALI supply may be connected.
Key Functions
  • One- or two-level timer functionality
  • Integrated scene control for up to 32 scenes
  • 16 integrated two-level controllers for constant light
  • Transformation of dimming commands into setpoint adjustments for ballasts with integrated light-level control
  • Stand-alone mode maintains DALI group operation during KNX communication failures
Local Operation
  • LC display for operating mode and error messages
  • Pushbutton to switch between bus and direct mode
  • Pushbuttons for switching all connected DALI ballasts on/off
  • One status LED per DALI output
Physical Specifications
  • Integrated bus coupling unit drawing only half a standard bus load
  • DIN rail mounting to EN 60715-TH35-7.5
  • Width: 4 MW (72 mm)
  • Weight: Approximately 0.47 kg
Engineering
  • ETS plug-in with table-based parameter pages
  • Configurable columns with sorting and filtering
  • Configuration backup inside ETS
  • Import function for converting configuration data from other KNX/DALI gateways
  • Requires ETS 5 or above with firmware V15
Note on Scope: Firmware V15 restricts the N 141/31 function set compared to plus models (no DALI sensor/input-device support, no emergency-lighting test logging, no constant-light or timer/effect blocks), while broadcast, group and scene control remain available.
Application Scenarios

This gateway is ideal for projects requiring large numbers of individually addressable luminaires with group-based control:

  • Office floors with zoned lighting control
  • Hotel lighting systems with scene management
  • Shopping centers requiring flexible lighting arrangements
  • Airport terminals with complex lighting requirements
  • Planning offices and multipurpose halls utilizing the 32 groups to separate work zones

The module's autonomous operation capability makes it suitable for areas where lighting must remain functional during KNX network maintenance.
