MTN6810-0102 Schneider SpaceLogic KNX Multi Phase Dimming Partner Two Way Master Extension 230V White
The MTN6810-0102 is a universal dimming extension module from the SpaceLogic KNX range. This two-channel device cannot operate independently and is designed to add dimming capacity to a master actuator.
This product's value lies in its relational functionality: while inert on its own, when combined with a master actuator, it enables the dimming capacity of a cabinet to be established during design while remaining adaptable for future changes. Each master accepts a limited number of extensions, with each extension contributing two universal dimming channels featuring the same load-adaptive behavior as the master.
This architecture allows small installations to begin with a few dimmed groups and expand to several without requiring master replacement or cabinet reconstruction. The extension is supplied in white for DIN rail mounting and pairs with its master through configuration rather than wiring alone.

The extension architecture means that pairing between a master and its extensions becomes part of the installation record rather than something inferable from wiring. An extension removed from service and later refitted, or supplied as a spare, may not work with a different master.
Commissioning should explicitly record master and extension arrangements, and spare extensions should be stored with pairing information attached. Capacity planning is also crucial: since the number of extensions per master is limited, cabinet design must anticipate potential future dimming capacity requirements.
Layouts assuming unlimited growth may exhaust master connections before rail space. When extensions span multiple enclosures, interconnecting wiring should be documented as part of the dimming system rather than general cabinet wiring.
This extension module is ideal for various phased development scenarios:
- Phased Developments: Buildings occupied in stages where cabinet dimming capacity increases as fit-out completes
- Hotels: Guest and public areas added over time while original cabinets remain functional
- Office Buildings: Landlord shell-and-core installations where lighting schemes are unknown during cabinet installation
- Retail Developments: Units fitted out at different times with adaptable dimming capacity
- Leisure & Hospitality: Venues where lighting designs evolve after initial opening phases
As both a replacement part and initial build component, sites using SpaceLogic dimming architecture benefit from keeping extensions on hand, provided pairing information is maintained with each unit.
