Application Notes
Storage Condition: Environmental temperature 10C+30C, Relative humidity no more than 60%, Storing period no more than one and half year.
Ripple Current and Voltage: Power dissipated (P) calculated by P=I ESR. Ripple current (I) calculated using maximum power dissipation and derating factors. Ripple voltage limited by power dissipation, peak AC voltage, and reverse voltage ratings.
Reverse Voltage: Solid tantalum capacitors are polarized. Transient reverse voltage is permissible for short periods: 10% of Max. rated voltage or 1V (whichever is smaller) at 25C; 5% of Max. rated voltage or 0.5V (whichever is smaller) at 85C; 1% of Max. rated voltage or 0.1V (whichever is smaller) at 125C.
Working Voltage: For general applications, use 50% of rated voltage or less. For power, low impedance, coupling, or switching circuits, use voltage under 30% of working voltage (max 50%). Derate voltage when temperature is above 85C.
Protective Resistance: In circuits with instantaneous current, a series resistance of at least 3/V is recommended.
Soldering: Suitable for reflow soldering. Manual welding requires specific temperature and time limitations.
