Usage Precautions

1. Circuit Design

  • Use capacitors within the rated performance range as per product sample design specifications, avoiding: high temperature (> max operating temp), overcurrent (> rated ripple current), overvoltage (> rated voltage), reverse or AC voltage, and circuits with frequent rapid charge/discharge.
  • Select capacitors with a lifespan comparable to the machine's lifespan.
  • Capacitor casing, terminals, and polarity must be completely isolated from the circuit.
  • Avoid using if the sleeve insulation is insufficient for specific requirements.
  • Do not use in environments with direct contact with water, saltwater, oil, condensation, or in atmospheres with harmful gases (sulfides, H2SO3, HNO3, CL2, ammonia), direct sunlight, ozone, UV radiation, radioactive substances, or excessive vibration/shock.
  • Ensure proper installation spacing for positive and negative terminals.
  • Leave sufficient space above the capacitor's safety vent.
  • Avoid placing wiring or other components directly above the safety vent.
  • Avoid placing other wiring near the capacitor's installation position on the PCB.
  • Minimize heat-generating components around the capacitor and on the PCB.
  • Consider temperature and frequency variations affecting electrical performance.
  • On double-sided PCBs, avoid installing capacitors over redundant board holes or via holes.
  • Ensure current and voltage balance when connecting multiple capacitors in parallel or series.

2. Component Installation

  • Do not allow capacitor terminals to directly contact each other or allow conductors to cause short circuits.
  • Check the environment at the installation site: avoid contact with water/oil, condensation, direct sunlight, ozone, UV, radiation, or harmful gases. Avoid excessive vibration and shock.

3. Assembly and Use

  • Ensure terminals do not directly contact each other and prevent short circuits.
  • Check environmental conditions: avoid water, oil, condensation, direct sunlight, ozone, UV, radiation, harmful gases, excessive vibration, and shock.

4. Regular Inspection

  • Capacitors used in industrial applications require regular inspection, including visual checks and performance testing.

5. Accidental Situations

  • If the capacitor's safety vent opens during assembly, disconnect the main power or unplug the power source.
  • When the safety vent operates, hot gas (>100C) may be ejected. Keep face away, flush eyes with water if gas enters, do not ingest electrolyte, and wash skin with soap if electrolyte splashes.

6. Fumigation Treatment

  • When exporting products containing capacitors overseas, be cautious of fumigation with halides (e.g., potassium bromide) as it may cause corrosion due to halide ions. Ensure fumigant does not directly contact the product and allow for thorough drying. Consult safety guidelines if fumigant residue or insufficient drying is suspected.

7. Storage Conditions

  • Store indoors at temperatures between 5-30 and humidity below 75%.
  • Do not store in environments or conditions prohibited during assembly and use.

8. Disposal

  • Dispose of capacitors by puncturing or crushing and then incinerating, or by handing them over to specialized waste recyclers if incineration is not performed.

Part Number System Example

The part number system is complex and includes codes for tolerance, capacitance, voltage, series, sleeve material, shape, and other features. For example, a part might be structured as: [Series Code] [Capacitance Code] [Voltage Code] [Tolerance Code] [Sleeve Material Code] [Shape Code] [Other Codes].
