Usage Precautions

  • Electrolytic capacitors are polarized; ensure correct polarity to prevent short circuits or damage. Use non-polarized capacitors if polarity may be reversed or is unknown.
  • Do not apply reverse voltage or DC voltage exceeding the rated voltage. Operating within the rated voltage ensures lifespan. Surge voltage is the maximum voltage the capacitor can withstand for a short period.
  • Ripple current should be less than the rated value to prevent overheating, capacitance reduction, and shortened lifespan. The peak ripple voltage plus the DC voltage should not exceed the rated working voltage.
  • Operate within the rated temperature range. Exceeding the upper limit significantly reduces lifespan or activates the safety vent. Lowering ambient temperature doubles lifespan for every 10 decrease.
  • Capacitors stored for extended periods may exhibit increased leakage current, especially at higher storage temperatures. This value will decrease after voltage is applied. Pre-charge if high leakage current affects the circuit.
  • Not suitable for circuits with frequent charge/discharge cycles, as capacity may decrease due to oxidation of the negative electrode or damage from heat generated during cycles.
  • Improper installation or stress on leads can damage internal structure, leading to high leakage current or leakage. Ensure good soldering, correct PCB hole spacing, do not bend leads, and avoid bending or twisting the capacitor body when soldering.
  • Prolonged or excessive heat during tinning or soldering may cause the sleeve to crack or shrink.
  • Do not clean with halogenated organic solvents. If cleaning is necessary, use a cleaner that guarantees capacitor quality. After cleaning, dry with hot air (not exceeding the upper temperature limit) for at least 10 minutes.
  • Do not use halogenated organic fixing or coating agents. Avoid sealing the capacitor's entire sealing area with these agents.
