Ferrite EMI Cable Cores
Laird's Ferrite EMI Cable Cores are designed to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) in electronic devices. These cores are crucial for ensuring signal integrity and protecting electronics by attenuating unwanted EMI frequencies. They are suitable for a wide range of applications across various industries, including handset, telecommunications, IT, automotive, public safety, consumer, medical, rail, mining, and industrial markets. The selection of the appropriate ferrite material, core shape, and size is critical for effective EMI suppression. High-performance ferrite materials allow for smaller, lighter, and more cost-effective cores. For optimal performance, cores should be installed near the noise source and can be configured in a common mode configuration to prevent saturation from high currents. Additional turns through a core increase impedance and shift the peak impedance to a slightly lower frequency. Split cores are available for applications where cores cannot be slid over cable ends and connectors, often featuring snap-on cases for secure closure.
