Molding SMD Power Inductors - SMS0420 Series
Product Overview
The SHENZHEN LANTU MICRO ELECTRIC TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. SMS0420 Series are ultra-high current SMD power inductors designed for high-density installation. Featuring a thin profile with low DC resistance and ultra-high current capabilities, these magnetically shielded inductors offer strong anti-electromagnetic interference. Their integral construction ensures high reliability and excellent vibration resistance, while the composite structure minimizes buzz noise. Utilizing low-loss alloy powder die-casting, they achieve low impedance and small parasitic capacitance, contributing to high efficiency and reduced core eddy-current loss. These inductors support frequencies up to 3MHz and have an absolute maximum voltage of 30VDC, complying with RoHS, Halogen Free, and REACH standards. They are ideal for applications such as PDA, notebooks, desktop and server applications, high current POL converters, battery-powered devices, and DC/DC converters in distributed power systems.

Usage Reminders
- Handle products carefully to prevent damage from dropping or improper removal.
- Avoid touching electrodes directly with bare hands due to oil secretions that may inhibit soldering.
- Do not bend terminals with excessive stress to prevent wire fracture.
- Do not rinse coils; contact the manufacturer if cleaning is necessary.
- Do not expose products to magnets or magnetic fields.
- Preheat components before soldering; the temperature difference between solder and chip should not exceed 150C.
- Soldering corrections after mounting should be within specified conditions to avoid short circuits, performance degradation, or lifespan reduction.
- Ensure sufficient thermal design margin for self-heating when power is on.
- For non-magnetic shield types, careful layout is required to prevent malfunctions due to magnetic interference.
- Avoid use or storage in environments with gas corrosion (salt, acid, alkali, etc.).
Reliability Testing
The SMS0420 Series has undergone various reliability tests including Terminal Strength, Resistance to Flexure, Dropping, Solderability, Vibration, Thermal Shock, Low Temperature Storage, High Temperature Storage, Damp Heat (Steady States), Heat Endurance of Reflow Soldering, Resistance to Solvent Test, Overload Test, and Voltage Resistance Test, with specific requirements and test methods detailed in the source document.
