Performance Characteristics

• Nominal Capacitance (Tolerance): Measured at 120Hz12Hz, 0.5Vrms, 202. Shall be within specified capacitance tolerance.
• Leakage Current: Measured after connecting with a 1k10 protective resistor in series for 2 minutes. Refer to Table 1 for criteria.
• tan: Measured under conditions specified in 4.2. Refer to Table 1 for criteria.
• Terminal Strength: Tensile and bending strength tests specified with force and criteria.
• Temperature Characteristics: Tested at various temperatures (-40, 20, 105). Criteria include tan limits, leakage current not more than 8 times specified value, and impedance ratio at -25.
• Load Life Test (105): Tested according to IEC60384-4 No.4.13. Criteria include leakage current, capacitance change (25%, or 30% for 6.3/10V), tan (200% of specified value), and no electrolyte leakage.
• Shelf Life Test (105 for 1000 hrs): Criteria include leakage current, capacitance change (25%, or 30% for 6.3/10V), tan (200% of specified value), and no electrolyte leakage.
• Surge Test: 1000 cycles of charge/discharge with specified resistor and conditions. Criteria include leakage current, capacitance change (15% of initial), tan, and no electrolyte leakage.
• Vibration Test: 10Hz ~ 55Hz, 1.5mm amplitude for 2 hours in 3 directions. Criteria include no intermittent contacts, open/short circuits, terminal damage, electrolyte leakage, swelling, or illegible markings.
• Solderability Test: Sn-Cu solder at 2503, 2mm dipping depth, 252.5mm/s speed, 30.5s time. Criteria: minimum 95% of immersed surface coated.
• Resistance to Solder Heat Test: 2605 for 101s or 40010 for 3+0/-1s, 1.5-2.0mm from body. Criteria: leakage current, capacitance change (10% of initial), tan, and no electrolyte leakage.
• Change of Temperature Test: 5 cycles of temperature changes (-40/-25, +105). Criteria: leakage current, tan, and no electrolyte leakage.
• Damp Heat Test (40, 90-95% RH for 500 hrs): Criteria: leakage current, capacitance change (20% of initial), tan (120% of specified value), and no electrolyte leakage.
• Vent Test: For products with vent (diameter 6.3mm). DC test with reversed polarity and specified current. Criteria: vent operates without flames or dispersion of pieces.
• Maximum Permissible Ripple Current: Maximum AC current at 120Hz and maximum operating temperature. Combined DC and peak AC voltage shall not exceed rated voltage. Frequency multipliers provided.
