The SAMXON GF Series Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors are polar, foil-type capacitors designed for use in electronic equipment and meet IEC60384 standards. These single-ended capacitors feature a construction with terminals fixed to anode and cathode foil, wound with paper, impregnated with electrolyte, and enclosed in an aluminum case sealed with end seal rubber and finished with a vinyl sleeve. They are suitable for applications requiring reliable performance across a wide temperature range.

General Characteristics

Performance Tests
- Rated voltage (WV) & Surge voltage (SV): Listed for various WV ratings (e.g., 6.3V WV / 8V SV, 10V WV / 13V SV, 16V WV / 20V SV, etc.).
- Nominal capacitance (Tolerance): Measured at 120Hz 12Hz, not more than 0.5Vrms, at 202. Tolerance within specified limits.
- Leakage current: Measured after connecting with a 1k 10 resistor in series for 2 minutes. Refer to Table 1 for criteria.
- tan: Measured under conditions specified in 4.2. Refer to Table 1 for criteria.
- Terminal strength: Tensile force and bending force specifications provided for different lead wire diameters. Criteria: No noticeable changes, breakage, or looseness.
- Temperature characteristic: Tests at various temperatures (-40C, 20C, 105C) with criteria for tan, leakage current, and impedance ratio.
- Load life test: Tested at 105C 2 with DC bias and ripple current for 3000 hours. Criteria: Leakage current within specified value, capacitance change within 25%, tan not more than 150% of specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Shelf life test: Stored at 1052 for 1000+48/0 hours. Criteria: Leakage current within specified value, capacitance change within 25%, tan not more than 150% of specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Surge test: 1000 cycles of charge (305s) and discharge (5 min 30s) with a surge voltage. Criteria: Leakage current within specified value, capacitance change within 15%, tan within specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Vibration test: 10Hz ~ 55Hz, 1.5mm peak to peak amplitude for 2 hours in 3 directions. Criteria: No intermittent contacts, open/short circuit, damage.
- Solderability test: Soldering temperature 2453, dipping depth 2mm, dipping speed 252.5mm/s, dipping time 30.5s. Criteria: Minimum 95% of immersed surface coated.
- Resistance to solder heat test: Terminals immersed in solder bath at 2605 for 101 seconds or 40010 for 10.1 seconds. Criteria: Leakage current within specified value, capacitance change within 10%, tan within specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Change of temperature test: 5 cycles of temperature changes (-40 to +105C). Criteria: Leakage current within specified value, tan within specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Damp heat test: 5008 hours at 90~95% RH and 402. Criteria: Leakage current within specified value, capacitance change within 20%, tan not more than 120% of specified value, no electrolyte leakage.
- Vent test: For products with vents (diameter 6.3mm). Criteria: Vent operates with no dangerous conditions.
- Maximum permissible (ripple current): Maximum AC current at 120Hz and maximum operating temperature. Frequency multipliers provided.
