MMPC0302 Series High Current Molded Power Inductors

The MMPC0302 Series High Current Molded Power Inductors are designed for demanding power applications. Featuring a compact design with carbonyl powder cores, these inductors offer high current handling, low DCR, and high efficiency, enabling operation at frequencies up to 5MHz. They are particularly well-suited for PC power systems, including IMVP-6 DC/DC converters, and provide very low acoustic noise and leakage flux noise. These inductors are RoHS compliant.

Soldering and Mounting:

  • Solder re-flow: Metal-lions terminations are suitable for re-flow soldering systems. Recommended temperature profiles for re-flow soldering in Figure 1. Reflow times: 3 times max.
  • Soldering Iron: Products attachment with a soldering iron is discouraged. If hand soldering cannot be avoided, the following precautions are recommended: Preheat circuit and products to 150. Never contact the ceramic with the iron tip. Use a 20 watt soldering iron with tip diameter of 1.0mm. 355 tip temperature (max). 1.0mm tip diameter (max). Limit soldering time to 4~5sec. Iron Soldering times: 1 times max.

Application Notice:

  • Storage Conditions (component level): To maintain solderability of terminal electrodes: Less than 40 and 60% RH. Recommended products should be used within 12 months from the time of delivery. The packaging material should be kept where no chlorine or sulfur exists in the air. Products meet IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020D standard-MSL, level 1.
  • Transportation: Products should be handled with care to avoid damage or contamination. Use of tweezers or vacuum pick up is strongly recommended. Bulk handling should minimize abrasion and mechanical shock.
