Derating Curve

Resistors have a power rating based on continuous load operation at an ambient temperature from -55 to 70. Derating is applied for temperatures above 70 as shown in Figure 1 (not included in this text).

Voltage Rating

Resistors have DC and AC continuous voltage ratings calculated by RCWV = P*R, where RCWV is Rated DC or RMS AC continuous working voltage (Volt.), P is Power Rating (Watt.), and R is Nominal Resistance (Ohm). Overload voltage is defined as 2.5 times RCWV.
