The Allegro MicroSystems ALS31313 is an automotive-grade, 3D linear Hall-effect sensor IC designed for precise magnetic field measurement across X, Y, and Z axes. It provides a 12-bit digital output proportional to the magnetic field, making it ideal for 3D sensing applications such as head-on linear motion, slide-by position sensing, and rotation angle measurements. The sensor supports a joystick mode with a low-gain Z-axis option for back-bias magnet integration, eliminating the need for traditional spring-based solutions. It offers highly configurable power management, including a low-power sleep mode consuming as little as 14 nA (typical), making it suitable for portable, battery-operated devices.
