Product Overview
The AS5045B is a 12-bit programmable magnetic position sensor designed for accurate angular measurement over a full 360-degree turn. This system-on-chip integrates Hall elements, analog front end, and digital signal processing, requiring only a simple two-pole magnet for operation. It offers absolute angle measurement with a resolution of 0.0879 degrees (4096 positions per revolution) and provides digital data via a serial bit stream or a PWM signal. The device supports operation at 3.3V or 5V supplies, offering high reliability, contactless operation, simple programming for zero position and settings, and multiple interfaces including Serial Synchronous Interface (SSI), Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) output, and Quadrature A/B and Index outputs. It is ideal for motor applications up to 30,000 rpm and includes failure diagnostics for magnet placement monitoring and power loss detection. The AS5045B is available in a small SSOP 16 package and boasts robust environmental tolerance with a wide operating temperature range of -40C to 125C.
