6.3 MVA to 45 MVA Ferrosilicon Submerged Arc Furnace

The submerged arc furnace (SAF) utilizes high-temperature combustion technology to maximize the thermal efficiency of coal during production. This results in improved energy utilization and reduced overall energy consumption.

In terms of production efficiency, the furnace is equipped with an advanced automated control system that enables intelligent operation. The high degree of automation throughout the production process significantly boosts output efficiency.

From an environmental standpoint, the use of high-temperature closed furnace technology effectively minimizes emissions of smoke, dust, and carbon dioxide. Additionally, the system captures and recycles waste gas generated during production, supporting both energy conservation and environmental sustainability.

Ferrosilicon Classification and Chemical Composition Requirements
1. Classification

Ferrosilicon is divided into four categories based on the smelting process:

  • High-silicon ferrosilicon (GG)

  • Ordinary ferrosilicon (PG)

  • Low-aluminum ferrosilicon (DL)

  • High-purity ferrosilicon (GC)

High-purity ferrosilicon refers to ferrosilicon produced by secondary refining (external refining) with low impurity element content.

2. Grade Designation Method
  1. The first two letters indicate the category: GG, PG, DL, or GC.

  2. Then follows the product code "FeSi".

  3. Next is the minimum silicon content (mass fraction), e.g., "97" means a minimum of 97%.

  4. Then comes the main impurity element and its maximum content, e.g., "Al1.5" means aluminum as the main impurity with a maximum of 1.5%.

  5. Finally, for high-purity ferrosilicon only, a suffix (A/B/C) indicates the classification based on secondary impurity element content.

3. Chemical Composition Requirements

Ferrosilicon is divided into 4 categories and 40 grades according to silicon and impurity contents (mass fraction) and applications. Among them, there are 9 grades of high-silicon ferrosilicon, 10 grades of ordinary ferrosilicon, 8 grades of low-aluminum ferrosilicon, and 13 grades of high-purity ferrosilicon. The chemical composition requirements are detailed in the table below.
