The water-cooled cable is a key component of the short network system in submerged arc furnaces (SAF). It is used to connect the secondary terminal of the transformer to the movable copper pipe (copper shoe) inside the furnace, transmitting large currents ranging from thousands to tens of thousands of amperes. As it operates under high temperature and strong electromagnetic fields for extended periods, and must bend and move with electrode lifting, it requires extremely high conductivity, flexibility, cooling effect, and sealing performance.

Water-cooled cable is a special type of cable with a hollow interior for water flow, used in high-current heating equipment. Commonly known as "water cable," it consists of three parts: electrode (cable head), flexible conductor, and outer hose.
