316L stainless steel plate is an alloy metal steel with excellent corrosion resistance, particularly pitting resistance due to the addition of Mo. It offers high temperature strength, excellent work hardening (weak magnetism after processing), and is non-magnetic in solid solution state.

Delivery Condition: Cold Rolled or Hot Rolled
Surface Color: Cold-rolled plate has bright or silver-white smooth surface; hot-rolled plate has darker brown, rougher surface
Production Process: Hot-rolled plate offers strong ductility and plasticity for high-toughness applications; cold-rolled plate provides higher hardness and strength for mechanical processing applications

The main difference between 316L and 304 stainless steel is that 316L contains Mo, providing better corrosion resistance, especially in high temperature environments. However, 316L should not be used in concentrated sulfuric acid environments.
