This product is specifically designed for the BYD472QA 1.5L naturally aspirated engine in the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i. It is a critical thermal management component integrated into the engine lubrication system—the oil cooler. This component cools the engine oil via a water-cooled system, ensuring the oil maintains stable viscosity within the optimal operating temperature range, thereby providing adequate lubrication to all engine friction pairs and extending engine life.

The BYD Qin PLUS DM-i features a water-cooled oil cooler, typically mounted at the oil filter base or on the engine cylinder block. Coolant and engine oil exchange heat through an internal plate-fin structure, transferring excess heat from the oil to the coolant, which is then dissipated to the atmosphere via the radiator. Under the frequent start-stop and high-load conditions of the DM-i hybrid system, the oil cooler plays a particularly critical role.
