The BYD Destroyer 05 adopts BYD's "Ocean Aesthetics" design language, with the most recognizable rear feature being its through-type LED tail light assembly, complemented by geometric dot-matrix taillight design and black-and-white lens配色 for high recognition. According to design analysis, the Destroyer 05 features through-type taillights with black-and-white lenses instead of the common red, with split light bars on both sides (officially called "geometric dot-matrix taillights"), and "Build Your Dream" lettering above the light strip.
The rear tail light assembly consists of three main parts:

Installation Instructions
Tools Required
- Plastic trim pry tool (for removing interior panels)
- Phillips screwdriver / Torx screwdriver (T20 / T25)
- 10mm socket wrench
- New clip set (recommended for replacement)
Installation Steps

Remove the tail light inner trim panelOpen the trunk, remove the retaining clips securing the inner tail light trim panel, then take off the panel.

Disconnect the wiring harness plugUnplug the main wiring harness connector from the back of the center-mounted tail light.

Remove the mounting screwsRemove the mounting screws for the center-mounted tail light (usually 2–3 screws).

Take out the old tail lightCarefully remove the old center-mounted tail light from the outside of the trunk lid.

Clean the mounting areaClean dust and dirt from the mounting slot.

Install the new tail lightAlign the new center-mounted tail light with the mounting holes and place it into position.

Tighten the screwsInstall and tighten the mounting screws.

Connect the wiring harnessReconnect the wiring harness plug and ensure the clip is locked securely.

Reinstall the interior trim panelPut the inner tail light trim panel back in place and press to secure the clips.

Function testTest if the position lights, brake lights, etc., are working properly.
Professional Tips
- The center-mounted tail light works with the left and right tail lights to create a full-width light effect. After installation, check that all three are aligned at the same height.
- LED tail lights do not require bulb replacement. If individual LEDs fail, the entire assembly must be replaced.
- After installation, check the gap between the tail light and the trunk lid (standard: approx. 3–5 mm).
- Handle the wiring harness carefully during operation to avoid pulling and damaging it.
