BYD Destroyer 05 Left & Right Front Steering Knuckle (Front Wheel Knuckle/Spindle)

• Lift or jack with safety stands

• Socket wrench / Impact wrench

• Torque wrench

• Ball joint separator (special tool)

• Axle nut socket

• Grease

 Installation Steps (General Reference):

1. Lift Vehicle: Raise the front using a lift, remove front wheels

2. Remove Caliper & Disc: Remove caliper and secure to body, remove brake disc

3. Remove Speed Sensor: Carefully remove front wheel ABS speed sensor

4. Remove Drive Axle Nut: Remove drive axle retaining nut

5. Remove Tie Rod End: Use ball joint separator to disconnect tie rod end from knuckle

6. Remove Lower Arm Ball Joint: Remove lower control arm ball joint to knuckle bolts

7. Remove Strut Connection: Remove strut-to-knuckle mounting bolts

8. Remove Knuckle: Remove old steering knuckle from drive axle and vehicle

9. Clean Mounting Area: Clean drive axle splines and new knuckle mounting surfaces

10. Install New Knuckle: Install new knuckle onto drive axle, pre-tighten all connections

11. Install Strut Connection: Connect strut to knuckle, pre-tighten bolts

12. Install Lower Arm Ball Joint: Connect lower control arm ball joint to knuckle, pre-tighten bolts

13. Install Tie Rod End: Connect tie rod end to knuckle, pre-tighten nut

14. Reinstall Disc & Caliper: Reinstall brake disc and caliper, torque to specification

15. Reinstall Wheel: Reinstall wheel and tighten, lower vehicle

16. Torque Axle Nut: Torque axle nut to specification with vehicle on ground

【Professional Tips】:

• Wheel alignment is mandatory after knuckle replacement—ensure front wheel alignment parameters (toe, camber) meet specifications

• Recommended to replace both left and right sides as a pair for symmetric suspension geometry

• Avoid grease contamination on taper surfaces during ball joint installation—ensure torque meets specifications
