Steel pipes are long, hollow tubes used for a variety of purposes. They are produced by two distinct methods which result in either a welded or seamless pipe. In both methods, raw steel is first cast into a more workable starting form. It is then made into a pipe by stretching the steel out into a seamless tube or forcing the edges together and sealing them with a weld. The first methods for producing steel pipe were introduced in the early 1800s, and they have steadily evolved into the modern processes we use today.

Packing and Shipping
Stainless steel pipe packaging and shipping typically includes a tube or box that is sealed with inner lining material to prevent damage. The pipes are usually secured to the packaging with strapping and/or stretch wrap. The pipes can then be loaded onto pallets for shipping.
Depending on the size and weight of the shipment, it can be transported via truck, train, or plane. If freight is being shipped via truck, the freight company will typically provide the necessary straps and/or pads to secure the pipes to the truck. When being shipped via train or plane, the pipes will need to be packaged and secured according to the shipping company's requirements.
