Duplex stainless steel sheet is a family of stainless steel grades with a mixed austenitic-ferritic microstructure (approximately 50% austenite / 50% ferrite). This unique structure delivers approximately twice the yield strength of standard austenitic grades like 304 or 316, combined with excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC), pitting, and crevice corrosion.
Duplex stainless steel sheets are the material of choice for demanding applications in offshore platforms, chemical processing, desalination plants, oil & gas exploration, and marine engineering, where both strength and corrosion resistance are critical.
