316 316L Stainless Steel Checker Plate Marine Grade Anti Slip Stainless Steel Plate
Marine grade stainless steel checker plate features a raised diamond pattern on the surface. This design provides excellent slip resistance and wear resistance in wet and harsh environments.
Our marine grade checker plates are manufactured from Grade 316 and 316L stainless steel, which contain molybdenum for enhanced corrosion resistance against chlorides and salt water. These products are ideal for coastal and marine applications where standard stainless steels may fail.

| Pattern Type | Diamond (standard) |
| Pattern Height | 0.8 mm – 1.2 mm |
| Element | Grade 316 | Grade 316L |
|---|---|---|
| Carbon (C) | ≤ 0.08 | ≤ 0.03 |
| Silicon (Si) | ≤ 1.00 | ≤ 1.00 |
| Manganese (Mn) | ≤ 2.00 | ≤ 2.00 |
| Phosphorus (P) | ≤ 0.045 | ≤ 0.045 |
| Sulfur (S) | ≤ 0.030 | ≤ 0.030 |
| Chromium (Cr) | 16.0 – 18.0 | 16.0 – 18.0 |
| Nickel (Ni) | 10.0 – 14.0 | 10.0 – 14.0 |
| Molybdenum (Mo) | 2.0 – 3.0 | 2.0 – 3.0 |
The addition of molybdenum (2.0–3.0%) provides superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.

| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Molybdenum Addition | Resists pitting and crevice corrosion from salt water and chlorides |
| Low Carbon (316L) | Prevents sensitization and intergranular corrosion after welding |
| High Nickel Content | Provides excellent toughness even at low temperatures |
| Superior Strength | Maintains structural integrity in harsh marine environments |
Comparison: 304 vs 316 for Marine Use
| Environment | Grade 304 | Grade 316 |
|---|---|---|
| Fresh water | Good | Excellent |
| Coastal / Splash zone | Moderate (may stain) | Excellent |
| Salt water immersion | Not recommended | Recommended |
| Chloride exposure | Poor | Good |
| Welded structures | Risk of corrosion | Low carbon (316L) preferred |
