2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe S32760 Anti Corrosion For High Pressure Service
2507 super duplex stainless steel pipe is a high-performance duplex grade with a two-phase microstructure consisting of approximately 50% austenite and 50% ferrite. It belongs to the super duplex family and offers exceptional strength combined with outstanding corrosion resistance.
With a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) exceeding 41, 2507 provides superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in the harshest environments, including high chloride and sour service conditions.

| Process | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Welding | Use matching filler metal (2509). Strictly control heat input (0.5-2.0 kJ/mm). Maintain interpass temperature below 150°C. |
| Bending | Minimum bend radius of 4x OD for cold bending. Use mandrel for tight radii. Hot bending requires solution annealing afterward. |
| Cutting | Use abrasive saw or cold saw. Do not use thermal cutting. |
| Machining | More difficult than austenitic grades. Use rigid setups, positive rake angles, and lower cutting speeds. |
| Heat Treatment | Solution anneal at 1070-1120°C followed by water quenching. Do not stress relieve. |
| Forming | Requires higher force than austenitic grades due to higher strength. Springback is significant. |
| Consideration | Details |
|---|---|
| Maximum Operating Temperature | 300°C (572°F) – prolonged exposure above this can cause embrittlement |
| Minimum Operating Temperature | -50°C (-58°F) – adequate toughness down to this range |
| Hydrogen Embrittlement | Not suitable for high pressure hydrogen service |
| Welding Criticality | Requires skilled welders and strict procedure control |
| Lead Time | Longer than standard grades due to specialized manufacturing |
