ASTM A240 316L cold rolled stainless steel sheet is a premium molybdenum-bearing austenitic grade engineered for superior corrosion resistance in chloride and marine environments. With 2.0-3.0% molybdenum content, 316L offers significantly enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to standard 304 grade, making it the material of choice for coastal, chemical processing, and pharmaceutical applications.
The low carbon variant (L-grade, ≤0.03% C) eliminates intergranular carbide precipitation during welding, ensuring post-weld corrosion resistance without the need for post-weld heat treatment. Available in 2B (smooth matte) and BA (bright annealed) surface finishes, our cold rolled 316L sheet delivers precise dimensional accuracy and uniform surface appearance for demanding fabrication projects.
