Product Introduction
ASTM A240 430 hot rolled stainless steel plate is a nickel-free ferritic grade offering good corrosion resistance, magnetic properties, and excellent thermal conductivity at an economical price point. The hot rolling process enables production of medium-to-heavy gauge plates suitable for industrial equipment, structural components, and oxidizing environment applications. Unlike nickel-bearing austenitic grades, 430 provides price stability and predictable supply chain economics, making it an attractive option for cost-sensitive projects. The No.1 finish (hot rolled, annealed, and pickled) provides a clean, oxide-free surface ready for fabrication and welding. 430 exhibits good resistance to nitric acid and oxidizing media, making it particularly suited for chemical storage and handling equipment.
