Product Description

YJV22 10kV 35kV High Voltage Copper Cable, XLPE Insulated, Steel Tape Armored, Power Cable

Structural Description

Copper Conductor: Compactly stranded circular structure, oxygen content ≤0.02%, conductivity not less than 97% IACS.

Nominal Cross-Section: 10kV commonly 25~630mm²; 35kV commonly 50~400mm² (single-core or three-core).

Conductor Shielding: Extruded semi-conductive layer, uniform electric field, preventing void discharge.

XLPE Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene, high material purity.

10kV Rated Voltage: 8.7/15kV, nominal insulation thickness 4.5mm

35kV Rated Voltage: 26/35kV, nominal insulation thickness 10.5mm

Insulation Shielding: Peelable or non-peelable semi-conductive layer, grounded together with the metallic shield.

Metallic Shielding: Copper tape or copper wire wrapping, cross-section meeting short-circuit current capacity requirements.

Filling and Wrapping: Polypropylene filler rope, wrapped tightly to ensure a round cable core.

Inner Sheath: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) inner lining, uniform thickness.

Armor Layer: Double-layer galvanized steel strip, intermittently wrapped, resistant to mechanical stress.

10kV: Suitable for direct burial, conduit, and cable trench installations.

35kV: It is recommended to check the installation location (not suitable for heavy pulling or high impact applications).

Outer Sheath: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), black, flame retardant rating can be provided as Class C or Class B upon request.

Features

The steel-strapped insulation can directly withstand short-term impacts from road rollers or excavators, making it suitable for direct burial under municipal roads.

XLPE insulation has a higher temperature rating than PVC, allowing for greater current carrying capacity.

The copper conductor is oxidation-resistant and creep-resistant, ensuring reliable crimping connections.

The outer sheath can be printed with meter readings, voltage ratings, and manufacturer information for easy on-site identification.

Application

  • 10kV power supply lines: residential power distribution, industrial parks, substation outgoing lines, and tunnel installations.

35kV power supply lines: small substation interconnection lines, main power supply for factories, and surface power supply for mines.

Laying methods: direct burial, cable trenches, conduits, and cable trays.

FAQ

1. What does “22” in YJV22 mean?
Double steel tape armor + PVC outer sheath. Suitable for direct burial, trenches, and ducts. Not for vertical or tensile applications.

2. Can single-core YJV22 be used with steel armor?
No. Single-core with steel armor causes eddy current heating. Use non-magnetic armor (YJV62) or 3-core design.

3. How to tell 10kV from 35kV YJV22?
Insulation thickness: 10kV → 4.5mm, 35kV → 10.5mm. Printed voltage on sheath.

4. Is YJV22 waterproof for underwater use?
No. PVC sheath and steel tape are not fully watertight. Use lead-sheathed or laminated aluminum sheath cable (e.g., YJLW02) for submerged installation.

5. Minimum bending radius?
3-core: 12×OD (outer diameter). Single-core: 15×OD. Do not bend sharply.

6. Why choose copper over aluminum?
Higher conductivity (97% IACS), better creep resistance, reliable compression joints. Higher cost but longer service life.

7. Can it be flame retardant?
Yes – add “ZC” or “ZB” according to GB/T 19666. Standard PVC sheath is not low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH).
