FLANGE 23T: The High-Strength, Precision Connection for Demanding Hydraulic Systems

In the high-pressure world of concrete mixer truck hydraulics, every connection is a potential point of failure. The integrity of the fluid power system hinges on components that can withstand immense pressure, constant vibration, and harsh environmental exposure. The FLANGE 23T represents a class of heavy-duty hydraulic flange connections engineered for reliability and safety in these critical applications. Specifically designed for systems operating at up to 23 tons of clamping force (or correlating to high-pressure ratings), this flange is not a generic fitting but a precision-machined interface that ensures leak-free performance and secure mounting for pumps, valves, and manifolds. Our manufacturing focuses on delivering flanges that meet exacting dimensional and material standards, providing a foundational component you can trust for the most demanding circuits in your mixer's drum drive, steering, or outrigger systems.

We specialize in the production of high-pressure hydraulic connections, offering complete services from custom machining per your drawings to consistent, high-volume production that meets the demands of OEMs and repair workshops alike.

Material

Common materials: Carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, ductile iron, plastic (e.g., PVC, PP), and non-metallic materials (e.g., rubber, graphite) for specific applications.

Choice depends on pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, and fluid type.

Types of Flanges
Different designs suit various pressure ratings and installation requirements:

Weld Neck Flange: Long tapered hub for welding, ideal for high-pressure/high-temperature systems.

Slip-On Flange: Slides over the pipe and is welded on both sides; easier to align but less strong than weld neck.

Blind Flange: Solid plate to close the end of a pipe; no bore.

Socket Weld Flange: Pipe fits into a socket and is welded; used for small-diameter, high-pressure pipes.

Threaded (Screwed) Flange: Threaded connection; avoids welding but limited to low-pressure applications.

Lap Joint Flange: Used with a stub end; allows easy alignment for rotating equipment.

Orifice Flange: Designed to hold flow measurement devices (e.g., orifice plates).

Pressure Ratings
Flanges are rated by pressure classes (e.g., ASME/ANSI standards):

Class 150 (low pressure), Class 300, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500, Class 2500 (high pressure).

Metric equivalents: PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, etc.

Face Types
The mating surface of flanges affects sealing:

Flat Face (FF): Simple, flat surface; used for low-pressure or non-critical systems.

Raised Face (RF): Central raised section for better sealing with gaskets; common in medium-pressure systems.

Ring Joint Face (RJ): Uses metal ring gaskets for high-pressure/high-temperature applications (e.g., oil refineries).

Spigot and Socket Face: Interlocking design for precise alignment in critical systems.

Bolt Holes and Bolting

Holes are evenly spaced for bolt installation, ensuring uniform clamping force.

Bolts/nuts must match the flange material and pressure rating (e.g., stainless steel bolts for corrosion resistance).

Core Product Specifications & Engineering Foundation

Our manufacturing is governed by the principle that a flange is a structural and sealing component in one. Every specification is chosen to fulfill this dual role under extreme conditions.

Comprehensive Selection & Maintenance Guidelines

Selection Guidelines:

Match the Standard and Pressure Rating Precisely: Identify the exact flange standard (e.g., SAE J518 Code 61/62, ISO 6162, DIN, or a proprietary OEM standard). Within that standard, select the correct size (e.g., 1", 1-1/4") and pressure rating (e.g., 6000 PSI series). The "23T" must be cross-referenced to a known standard to ensure compatibility. Never mix standards or assume compatibility.

Define the Sealing Method: The sealing method is integral to the flange design. The most common types are:

O-Ring Seal (SAE Code 61): An O-ring sits in a groove in the flange face. Offers excellent sealing with lower bolt torque. Requires precise groove dimensions.

Flat Face with Gasket (SAE Code 62): Uses a captive, reusable metal O-ring or a soft gasket. Often used for higher pressures or where disassembly is frequent.

Raised Face (RF): Common in pipe flanges, uses a soft gasket compressed on a raised ring.

Material Selection Based on Service: Choose the material for the operating environment.

Carbon Steel (A106/4140): General purpose, high strength.

Stainless Steel (304/316): For corrosive fluids or environments.

Alloy Steel (4340/8740): For the most demanding high-pressure, high-fatigue applications.
