Product Description
The core properties of stainless steel round bars lie in their strong corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, with specific performance varying by material grade. They have an extremely wide range of applications, from daily kitchen utensils to high-end petrochemical and aerospace industries.
Core Properties
  • Basic form: Solid long bars with a circular cross-section; specifications are indicated by diameter "Φ" (e.g., Φ50), with a typical length of about 4–6 meters.
  • Surface condition: Divided into bright round bars with smooth surfaces (finished, used for precision components) and black bars retaining an oxide layer (hot-rolled, used for further processing).
  • Key performance: Taking the most common 304 as an example, it offers good corrosion and heat resistance as well as favorable mechanical properties; grade 316 with added molybdenum (Mo) features superior corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength, suitable for harsh environments.
  • Specification range: The diameter of hot-rolled round bars generally ranges from 5.5mm to 250mm.
Application Industries
  • General machinery and parts: Small-diameter bars (5.5–25mm) are often processed into standard parts such as bolts and nuts, or used as steel bars; large-diameter bars are used to manufacture various mechanical parts, pump shafts and seamless steel tube blanks.
  • Petroleum, chemical and power industries: Used to produce valves, flanges, heat exchanger tubes and other components resistant to high temperatures, high pressures and severe corrosive environments.
  • Food and pharmaceutical industries: Widely applied in food production equipment and medical devices due to their hygienic and corrosion-resistant properties (e.g., 316 for surgical instruments).
  • Other fields: Covering shipbuilding, aerospace, architectural decoration, as well as papermaking, dyestuff manufacturing, coastal facilities and many other industries.
