Description:
PEPA is an industrial-grade phosphorus-based charring agent with a rigid bicyclic caged molecular structure. It acts as both an acid source and a carbon source, making it highly effective in intumescent flame retardant formulations. PEPA enhances thermal stability, promotes dense char formation and reduces heat release during combustion. It can also serve as an intermediate for the synthesis of macromolecular phosphorus flame retardants.

Application:
Widely used in epoxy resins, acrylic resins, TPE, rubber, polyurethane and coatings. PEPA has good dispersion in water-based and oil-based systems and shows good compatibility with TPE. When combined with other flame retardants, it delivers improved flame resistance. Typical dosage is 10–15%.
