Applications
ZION COMMUNICATIONS' Fiber Optic Attenuator is an optical device that reduces optical signal energy. It attenuates input optical power to prevent distortion in optical receivers caused by excessive input power. As a passive optical device, it is used for debugging optical power performance, calibrating fiber optic instruments, and attenuating fiber optic signals to required levels.
The product utilizes attenuating fiber doped with metal ions to precisely adjust optical power. Primary applications include:

- Input power attenuation to prevent receiver distortion
Connector Types
LC Connector: Used in LC fiber interfaces, connects to SFP modules with easy-to-operate modular jack latch mechanism. Commonly used in routers.
SC Connector: Applied to SC fiber interfaces, features a flat design similar to RJ-45 but with copper contact pins. Identified by copper columns instead of thin contacts.
FC Connector: Applied to FC fiber interfaces, features metal sleeve reinforcement and turnbuckle fastening. Typically used on ODF distribution frames.
ST Connector: Applied to ST fiber interfaces, commonly used in fiber distribution frames. Features round shell design with turnbuckle fastening. Often used for 10Base-F connections.
