Blufloc Anionic Cationic Nonionic Polyacrylamide Powder For Water Treatment, Mining and Industrial Separation
Polyacrylamide Powder for Water Treatment, Mining and Industrial Separation
Blufloc polyacrylamide (PAM; Russian: полиакриламид, ПАА) is a water-soluble polymer supplied in anionic, cationic and nonionic grades. It is engineered to improve flocculation, solid-liquid separation, clarification, sludge dewatering and water recovery across demanding operations in Russia and CIS markets.
One Polyacrylamide Portfolio, Multiple Separation Challenges
Suspended solids behave differently from one process to another. Mineral particles in mine water, biological sludge at a municipal treatment plant, paper fibers in white water and fine solids in industrial effluent do not respond to the same polymer chemistry. Blufloc addresses this variation through a broad polyacrylamide portfolio with adjustable ionic character, molecular weight and charge degree.
In water, the selected polymer supports particle destabilization, inter-particle bridging and floc growth. Larger and stronger flocs can then be separated more efficiently by sedimentation, dissolved air flotation, thickening, filtration or mechanical dewatering. The practical objective is not simply to use PAM, but to select the grade that delivers the best treated-water quality and sludge behavior at an economical dose.
Designed for practical regional operating conditions
Grade selection can be adapted to high-solids mineral streams, variable industrial wastewater, long transport routes and winter storage requirements. According to the TDS, unopened product should be stored at 0-35°C, protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Heated or temperature-controlled storage may therefore be required during severe winter conditions.
Choose the Correct Ionic Type for the Solids You Need to Remove
High molecular weight for mineral and inorganic solids
Anionic polyacrylamide is commonly evaluated for raw-water clarification, mine water, tailings, coal washing, mineral processing, industrial wastewater and water-recovery circuits.
Effective for organic sludge and dewatering duties
Cationic polyacrylamide is commonly evaluated for municipal sewage sludge, biological sludge, paper-mill sludge and industrial sludge thickening or dewatering.
Low-charge option for special water chemistries
Nonionic polyacrylamide may be tested when low ionic charge is preferred or when water chemistry limits the performance of strongly charged polymers. Final suitability should be confirmed by laboratory testing.

Polyacrylamide Applications Across Russia and CIS Industries
Mining and Metallurgy
Tailings thickening, mineral slurry settling, concentrate clarification, process-water recycling and dewatering in gold, copper, iron, coal and other mineral operations.
Coal Washing
Fine coal and clay separation, tailings settling, thickener performance, filter-feed conditioning and recovery of reusable process water.
Municipal Wastewater
Primary clarification, sludge thickening and conditioning before belt press, centrifuge, screw press or other mechanical dewatering equipment.
Industrial Wastewater
Primary, secondary and tertiary separation; suspended-solids removal; dissolved air flotation; sludge dewatering and water-reuse preparation.
Pulp and Paper
Fiber and filler retention, white-water recovery, clarification and sludge conditioning. The selected ionic type must match furnish chemistry and the wet-end program.
Oil and Gas
Application-specific grades may be evaluated for drilling fluids, enhanced oil recovery, fluid-loss control, lubrication and shale stabilization, subject to field-fluid testing.
Raw Water and Power
Clarification of source water and scrubber water, settling improvement and dewatering of lime-alum sludge where the polymer is compatible with the overall treatment train.
Sugar and Process Industries
Juice clarification, mud settling, brine clarification and other solid-liquid separation processes that require fast floc formation and clear supernatant.
Construction and Soil
Selected grades can support soil stabilization, road works and construction-water treatment. Performance must be validated for the soil, water and equipment used.
How to Select a Polyacrylamide Grade
A polymer name alone does not define performance. Ionic type, molecular weight and charge degree must be matched to particle surface chemistry, water quality, pH, salinity, temperature, upstream coagulants and the separation equipment.
How to Dissolve and Use Blufloc Polyacrylamide Powder
Why Use Blufloc Polyacrylamide?
Efficient at low dosage
Properly selected high-molecular-weight polymer can deliver strong flocculation at comparatively low treatment levels.
Faster solid-liquid separation
Supports larger floc formation, rapid settling and improved clarification, flotation, thickening or filtration.
Improved sludge dewatering
Can improve water release, equipment throughput and cake formation when the ionic type and dose are correctly matched.
Better water recovery
Clearer overflow or filtrate can support process-water recycling and reduce the volume of water carried with the sludge.
Suitable Packaging for Industrial Supply
25 kg bags
Kraft paper or PE bags with an inner plastic liner for routine plant handling and flexible inventory control.
750 kg big bags
Net big-bag packaging for higher-volume industrial users and centralized polymer preparation systems.
Storage requirements
Keep sealed, dry and away from direct sunlight at 0-35°C. Shelf life is two years under recommended storage conditions.
From Polymer Screening to Plant Validation
The fastest route to a suitable polyacrylamide grade is a structured comparison under representative conditions. For new projects, provide the application, flow rate, water or sludge analysis, current chemical program, separation equipment and performance target. For replacement projects, include the current product type, working concentration, dose and the problem you want to solve.
Laboratory screening
Compare several ionic types and charge levels using the actual water, slurry or sludge whenever possible.
Process compatibility
Check the polymer against existing coagulants, pH adjustment, salinity, temperature, pumps and separation equipment.
Plant trial
Confirm performance under changing feed conditions and evaluate cost per treated cubic meter or tonne of dry solids.
Polyacrylamide FAQ for Russia and CIS Customers
Polyacrylamide is a water-soluble polymer used to modify water viscosity or to promote flocculation and solid-liquid separation. Blufloc powder is available in anionic, cationic and nonionic types.
Anionic PAM is a common starting point for mineral and inorganic suspended solids, while cationic PAM is commonly screened for organic and biological sludge dewatering. The correct product must be confirmed with the actual process material.
The supplied TDS recommends a working solution concentration of 0.1-0.5%. The final concentration should also suit the viscosity range and capability of the preparation and dosing system.
Approximately one hour of agitation is generally required, although dissolution time varies with ionic type, water quality, temperature and mixing conditions. The solution should be uniform and free of lumps before use.
The TDS specifies a storage range of 0-35°C and protection from direct sunlight. In severe winter climates, use dry indoor or temperature-protected storage and plan protected transport when temperatures are below 0°C.
In some systems, optimized PAM use may reduce coagulant demand. However, PAM is often used as a flocculant or coagulant aid and should not automatically replace primary coagulants without comparative jar testing.
There is no universal dosage. It depends on solids concentration, particle chemistry, pH, salinity, temperature, upstream chemicals, mixing energy and separation equipment. Determine the starting dose through laboratory screening and confirm it in a controlled plant trial.
Blufloc polyacrylamide powder is packed in 25 kg kraft paper or PE bags with inner plastic liners, or in 750 kg net big bags.
Send the industry and application, daily flow, pH, suspended solids or sludge concentration, water chemistry, current treatment chemicals, separation equipment, current dosage and required discharge or process target. A representative sample provides the most reliable basis for screening.
