EPDM rubber represents ethylene propylene diene monomer, and because EPDM has excellent heat resistance, its solenoid valve seals are recommended for use over NBR temperature ranges such as hot water and low pressure steam. The maximum service temperature of EPDM is about 120 c, and it has good tolerance to acid, base and salt.
VITON
VITON (FKM) is the brand name for the synthetic rubber and fluoropolymer elastomers in DuPont. It is usually used for o-rings and other molded or extruded products. They can be used in automobile and petroleum exploration applications because of their excellent heat resistance, which can make the working temperature close to 150 degrees Celsius.
