1. Product Description
A Keps nut, also called a K-nut or washer nut, is a nut with an attached, free-spinning washer. It is used to make assembly more convenient. Common washer types are star-type lock washers, conical, and flat washers
Hex Nut with assembled free spinning External Tooth Lockwasher. The lockwasher creates the locking feature against the bearing surface of the nut and the mating surface.
K-lock Nut (Keps nuts) have a ring of "teeth" on one side of them. These teeth will grip the piece they are being installed on. This means you DO NOT need to use an open-ended wrench to tighten them (but it is still recommended). These nuts are installed with the teeth facing the structure. These nuts can loosen up over time if not properly tightened; however they will work great in most applications.

3. Application
is another type of lock nut. Its a hex nut pre-assembled with a free spinning external tooth lock washer. The teeth pattern of the washer bite into both the nut and the base material to prevent loosening caused by vibration.
