Product Description
Steam distribution headers are fabricated from carbon steel or alloy steel seamless tubes. We offer customized, tailor-made solutions. All headers undergo stress relief treatment after fabrication to eliminate residual stresses. These large pipe headers transfer water from downcomers to risers through combustion zones where water is partially heated to steam by fuel combustion.
Operation
When bringing a boiler online with other boilers on a header system, specific precautions are necessary to prevent water hammer and excessive temperature gradients in piping. Proper drainage and warming of piping eliminates water hammer risk. Bypass valves around main header valves help avoid steep temperature gradients. Header drains should be operated, and steam lines should be brought up to temperature using bypass and drain valves before opening header valves wide.

Application
Large diameter longitudinal welded pipe headers serve as water wall headers, superheater headers, and economizer headers in steam boiler pressure systems. They function to collect, mix, and redistribute working medium. Structurally, they are classified as end cover type (end enclosure) or necking down type.
