Stair tread grating
Stair treads can be supplied in any load bar/pitch configuration required. The treads shown here are for illustrative purposes only. Overall tread length can be made to any dimension. We suggest that tread width be selected from the table below with its recommended widths.
Wear rates are higher on stair treads than on general flooring due to concentrated impacts resulting in bowed treads. Xinboyuan recommends that stair treads never have less than a 25 x 5 Load Bar size, regardless of main flooring depth.
For safety and strength reasons, Nosing Bars should be specified. To the eye, when walking on grating stairways, grating patterns tend to merge with the result that tread edges become ill defined causing over or under stepping by users. Strength at the front of the tread is increased with Nosing Bars. Also deflection resistance of the tread from impact loads is improved.
