The Hydrocyclone Mud Desander is the second-level cleaning device in a complete solids control system. It is designed to separate drilling cuttings ranging from 45 to 75 μm using centrifugal force. Untreated mud enters the desander cone through a horizontal inlet under pressure; the combination of pressure and weight forces solid particles to travel along the cone wall and drop down, while the cleaner fluid overflows through the discharge pipeline. A shaker or hopper collects the separated solids, ensuring a cleaner drilling fluid that enhances overall drilling performance.
