Introduction

Hydrocyclone is also called cyclone separator. It includes hydrocyclone desander(10 in. cone) and hydrocyclone desilter(4 in. cone), which used to separate sand and silt from the drilling fluid. A hydrocyclone has two exits on the axis: the smaller on the bottom (underflow or reject) and larger at the top (overflow or accept). The underflow is generally the denser or thicker fraction, while the overflow is the lighter or more fluid fraction.

Mud desilter is used to separate silts from drilling muds. The cut point can be as low as 4“. As muds are being used in drilling operations, they are contaminated with silts. In order to use again these muds, it is necessary to separate silts and also to recycle muds to dispose them at the end of work duty. TR 4”desilter can handle up to 1056 GPM of drilling fluids. Currently TRCN series desilter is used in many industries like oil & gas drilling, horizontal directional drilling, drilling waste management etc.
