Drilling stabilizer is a tool for stabilizing the downhole drilling tool and acting as an anti-slope. A device that is attached to a section of the drill string near the large diameter drill to stabilize the direction of the drill.

A drilling stabilizer is a piece of downhole equipment used in the bottom hole assembly (BHA) of a drill string. It mechanically stabilizes the BHA in the borehole in order to avoid unintentional sidetracking, vibrations, and ensure the quality of the hole being drilled. It is composed of a hollow cylindrical body and stabilizing blades, both made of high-strength steel. The blades can be either straight or spiralled, and are hardfaced for wear resistance.

API standard oilfield stabilizers are manufactured from one solid bar of AISI 4145H modifed steel,usually have 3 blade or 4 blades.Professional heat-treatment process gurantees the mechanical strengths meet the requirments of API SPEC7-1.Hardness of 285-341HB can be assured bith 1'' beneath the outer suiface and 4 quadrant across the neck OD.
