Product Overview
Kelly is located in the top of the drill string, with square and hexagonal. In rotary drilling, when it is drilling, kelly connected with square bushing and rotary bushing, transfer the ground rotary torque to drill pipe and to drive the drill bit,bearing the weight of the drill string.In the drilling of the turbine and screw, the weight of the drill string and the counter torque are supported.
Our Square& Hexagonal kelly are made from AISI 4145H modified alloy bars that are quenched and tempered full length. After such heat treatment, its brinell hardness can reach 285-341. Kelly's end, drive cross-section and joint are all processed and tested comform to API criterion.
Straightness of the kelly is very crucial in the manufacturing process, thus straightness inspections are carried out before, during and after each machining operation. All milling processes are performed on specially designed rigid Kelly mills to ensure tight tolerances and high quality drive sections.

- Shipped in a protective steel -cased scabbard.
- Ends and drive section,IDs and connections machined and inspected to API specification.
- Ultrasonic inspection is performed on all section.
- Manufactured from AISI4145H-modified, fully heat-treated alloy steel with a Brinell hardness range of 285-341BHN and a minimum average Charpy impact value of 40ft-Ibs.
