Product Overview
Rod pump is also known as insert rod pump, it is one type of the conventional sucker rod pumps. The rod pump is connected to the sucker rod directly, it can be pulled out with sucker rod and does not influence the tubing, so the well inspection and workover is more convenient. It can save half times and reduce cost of the pumping test, thus the rod pump is suitable for the deeper well.
Depending on the wall thickness of the barrel, the rod pump can be classified as either a thin wall rod pump or a thick wall rod pump. At our company, we manufacture these insert rod pumps according to different requirements of customer’s.
Technical Performance & Characteristics
- The valve ball and seat are made of high carbon chromium stainless steel, tungsten carbide, titanium carbide or other materials, thus its service life is extended.
- The surface of the plunger is subject to build-up welding with nickel-based alloy powder, thus the corrosion-resistant performance is enhanced.
- The pump barrel is made of high-quality special tubes, and the internal surface is hardened through chrome or nickel-phosphorus plating, resulting high strength, rigidness and corrosion-resistant performance.
- High pumping efficiency and long inspection cycle.
- Compact structure and easy installation and maintenance.
Working Principle of Sucker Rod Pump
In the upper stroke, the plunger is on the bottom of the tubing pump. Because the hydraulic pressure from the uper tubing, both up and traveling valves will close, When the plunger go up, the stationary valve open and oil will go through the pump, since the bottom pressure is higher than the uper pressure, then the fluid will be forced to go through the stationary valve and flow into the tubing.
In the down stroke,the traveling valve open and the presure drive the oil go into the plunger from the side holeof the extractor, then go into the tubing.
